SHOT Show 2018: PhoneSkope

Re: light loss. In daylight, your pupils will open to accommodate significant light loss. In using a 50/50 mirror(I'll make this assumption), its only 50%, or the photographic equivalent of one f-stop. Since our eyes can handle 10-12 "stops" of light, on any given sunny or overcast day, there's more than enough light to still use your scope with this unit attached. Seems like a bit of hardware to set up & mess with, but an interesting solution for capturing that through the glass look.

Thanks for bringing us this great coverage of SS 2018!!

honestly, it would even make for a good training aid for precision shooting.... Dry fire, and record if you flinch (and if so, how much). If you are working with a friend on dope calls, when then spotter gives a hold, they could validate if the shooter has adjusted correctly. Some spotters are better at communicating then others, and some shooters understand it better then others.

Ah, ok. So you're still shooting through the scope, this just become a recording tool for training and the range. K, I can see some value in that.

PhoneSkope works great on a spotting scope or binos, I have used it quite a bit and it is really nice. I haven't seen this unit yet, but I would bet it is decent quality and well thought out.

reminds me of this:
