SHOT SHOW UPDATE#1: BOBERG ARMS coming to Canada!!!

I am in, if price is not much higher the USA. eitherwise I will just import it by other means

Before posting that your going to do an "end around" a Canadian dealer, on that dealers forum, which also happens to be a paid sponsor on this site. Please think about about the fact that we (and a lot of other Canadian dealers) on this site spend a lot of time and effort into bringing in new, exciting and innovative products that most people on CGN would never have a chance to see. We spend a lot of resources and bear all the financial risk in bringing in these products, and we bring them right to your doorstep with a full warranty and full product customer service. In short the import procedure is painstakingly time consuming and these man power hours must be factored in along with State dept. documentation fees, shipping costs as well as brokerage and insurance charges. All these "costs" are what you see in the price differences between US and Canada, it is the cost of doing business. For the sake of a few dollars I would hope you can support Canadian dealers that support you.

Well said!!!!

I'm really looking forward to the arrival of this gun. I want to see how it feels. It sure looks great. If it feels as good as it looks, I'm in.
Thanks for making it happen Wanstalls!

Oh, ok. I assumed because the op photo had "low recoil"

Too bad we don't have CCW

It has nothing to do with recoil. I has to do with our silly barrel length laws.

Because the barrel on this gun extends back behind the grip; You get an extremely short pistol, while still complying with our 4.2 inch minimum barrel length requirement.

Any other semi-auto pistol that's this small would be deemed prohibited.

WTFG! Just what I was thinking! Now I think I might have to go spend some cash at Wanstalls!

Put me down for one of them when they are in as well!! Need a deposit? How much and when?

There is not a high markup on guns once all the other costs are taken into consideration. I like a good deal as much as everyone else but we have to support our local dealers if we want new products coming into Canada which is unfortunately a small market. I also know from personal experience that Wanstalls will fully stand behind their products if you ever have an issue and that alone is worth the price of admission.

 +1 Onyx

If these are north of $1500 though I may have to pass. Especially with Mags retailing @ $40USD they will be $45-$50CAD

Could be $1750+ for the Pistol and 3 extra mags +taxes +shipping .. thats a little crazy for something we can't even legally CCW here with. We'll just have to wait and see on pricing.

+1. Also, from the designer:

The problem with text is that it is out-of-date the moment it is written down. And a Google search is good at finding out-of-date information. We have done a lot to smooth out the transition between the tongs and the extractor, so short-stroking the slide is much less likely. Moreover, if the ejector spring is removed from the XR9 pistol (the upcoming XR45 has no ejector spring), then the getting the cartridge caught while short-stroking goes away. The reason we have an ejector spring is for ease of re-assembly (it keeps the ejector out of the way of the slide). However, the ejector can be manipulated by hand during re-assembly. In the US, where we have concealed carry, many carry with a round in the chamber, so they are not concerned about racking the slide in a life-threatening situation. With the way our slide now operates, it is arguably easier to rack than most pistols out there - it just simply takes less force to rack the slide of an XR9 pistol.

How old are the "very bad reviews on this gun"? If they pre-date the design changes, then they're invalid (as so well explained by Mr. Boberg himself...)

Forgot to mention... I'll definitely take one, and my price tolerance is going to be pretty darn high (Wanstalls, you didn't see that last part... :) ).
