Shot size for yotes

Be thinking of trying the 12g for yotes. How does #1 or #4 buckshot work?

From what I hear, the guys around here use #4 buck with good results.

I've used #4 buck a couple times & it worked well. I shot one over geese decoys with BB steel & even though it broke him down it did not penetrate much. A second killing shot at close range was needed . My view is big lead or nothing.

Lead BB works under 40 yards. #4 buck is your best bet, shooting coyotes is where a 31/2 inch chamber really shines.

#4 buck works really well and is the smallest shot size legal for hunting them in BC. I don't know about ON.

I go heavier, #4 works but #1 and even 00 works better.

you get a much better pay load from # 4 buck then you do from bigger shot as you can not get enouigh of them in the shell .that is why # 4 buck realy shines mine have 48 pellets some three and a half inch get 54 pellets off # 4 buck in each shell the bigger pellets just make to much wasted space in the shell .DUTCH
