Love to have some opinions

Looking for a semi auto shotgun 12 gauge

For waterfowl mainly I’d love to buy it used so something older then this year recommendations anyone and maybe a reason why. Price range sub 1000$

Don’t really care if it shoots 3 1/2” but needs to take 3” and removable chokes for steel shot

Thanks for your help cgn

Head over to the EE shotgun sub section and see what is for sale.
Head over to the hunting subsection and see what the bird hunters are using.
Just another way to skin the cat while others chime in with their opinions and experiences.

I highly suggest going to a gun store and shoulder all the semis they sell. Find what fits you best then go from there.

Lots of good semis out there, I shoot a browning Maxus but have owned Berettas and Benellis(great guns) but the Maxus fit me the best and it was almost 1000$ cheaper.

Research shotgun fit, then go to a store and find out what fits you. The Winchester SX-3,Winchester SX-4, Browning Maxus, Browning Silver, Beretta A350, Beretta A400 , and the Benelli SBE2 and SBE3 are all dependable guns, and all can be found used. By the way, there is no need to post the same post in several forums.

Get something inertia operated and thank me later.

And after four years and well over 1000 waterfowl loads and a few thousand target loads, in rain, snow and freezing temperatures, my gas operated SX-3 has been flawless. My hunting partners also use gas operated guns, and we kill a lot of geese every year, without issues.

Shotgun fit is just as important for a hunting gun as it is for target shooting.Try holding and shouldering the shotguns that interest you, especially if you have access to a clays club and have friends that can let you try a few rounds.Shouldering the guns at a gun shop can help you determine a preferred barrel length in the shotgun that you feel most comfortable with.

As mentioned,do your research ( catalogues, magazines, club members, friends,G'nutz and sales staff ) and you can have alot of fun making the final decision ( until the payments start to come out-just kidding ).
