Shotgun barrel tri-rail

Thinking of adding a tri rail to my 12 ga canuck recon barrel. Virtually every tri rail available is described as mounting to the magazine tube, is there any reason I would not be able to attach one of these to the barrel?

I have never seen a tri-rail but if it is made for mounting on a magazine tube (that has no taper at all) it may be a problem mounting it on a barrel with a different diameter and tapered as well... there would be quite a "pulse" through the barrel each time it is is fired as well... hard on the mount.
