Okay, I have a few shotguns but nothing I really consider "Great" for turkey or geese.

I have;
a Stoeger coach gun supreme with 3" chambers,20" barrels & removable chokes,
a Remington Wingmaster with 2 3/4" receiver, 18 inch barrel fixed IC (I believe),
a Norinco HP9 with 3" chamber, 14" barrel (who cares about it's choke)
a Lakefield 400 with 2 3/4" receiver with 1 full choked 30" barrel in 2 3/4" & 3" plus a 26" IC barrel in 2 3/4" & 3"
and Polytech 1897 copy in 2 3/4" with 20 IC barrel.

For geese should I:
1: Buy a 26" remington barrel with changeable chokes for $169 + S&H and use the 3" HP9,
2: Buy a Maverick 88 Security for $229 and use my 30" full choke barrel and keep or sell the 18" that came with it, or
3: Buy a Maverick 88 Field with the removable choked 28" barrel.

Really if money was no issue I'd buy an 870 express with 26" barrel, or an 870 Supermag with a 28" barrel and have more swapability with my current 870 models, but I've bought 4 guns since July and my wife is starting to pay attention. Thanks in advance.

Dont run steel through the 30" full choke, cant shoot steal out of anything tighter than a mod. I would get a gunsmith to bore that full choke out to a modified and your all set.

I just wanted something with a little more punch as my brother will be laying down Ack-ack with his Supermag using Black Cloud 3.5"s.

So if I use the Lakefield with steel shot, I should use my 26" IC barrel?

I'm ignoring your qualifications to your question.

Buy an 870 Wingmaster. Buy it used off the EE. Get one with 28" or 30" barrels. Buy your wife a very nice gift, then buy the gun.

Thanks for the info and tips guys. I'll try the Lakefield this season and see how it goes, but save up for a used shotty in the off season. I don't think now is the time to look for a used goose gun.

Any recommendations for shells?

Four guns since July and she is just starting to pay attention? What is your secret?

"I just wanted something with a little more punch "

Your brother is putting more steel in the air, but not with any more "punch."

This: Lakefield 400 with 2 3/4" receiver with a 26" IC barrel in 2 3/4" & 3"

I rarely use 3", even for geese. Get the fastest shells you can find, steel #3 and BB will cover ducks and geese. It'll work fine.

I sooooo hope that your brother isn't a skybusting jerk, and that you are a somewhat capable wingshooter. Shoot when they put their landing gear down. Good luck.

PS My deadliest duck gun over decoys is also my favourite skeet gun - Browning A5 Light Twelve with CYL barrel.
