Would the porting in my duck gun put me in open division with most clubs? That would be unfortunate.

It would at the matches I shoot at, even a ported breaching choke would put you in open. Perhaps buying a cheap barrel or something would be a good bandaid depending on what gun your using.

Actually, if the breaching choke is OEM to the shotgun being used it isn't considered a comp or brake and does not put you in Open.

It was written that way so that guns like the 930 Tactical, with integral breacher, didn't get bumped to Open. God knows it was no advantage on those guns.

At an MP3G match that would count as a comp and put you in Open. I can't speak for other events.
