I had a post a while back about shotgunning for coyotes. Well, I tracked down some 3 inch lead BB's today in Toronto - which I hadn't been able to find anywhere. At typical ranges, anybody want to point me to either the lead BB or #4 buck (also 3 inch), or I am splitting hairs?

To me it seems like a better (bigger) pattern vs. slightly more killing power. I just want to get the job done right with the 12 gauge, I don't want wounded dogs running around.

My 870 with modified choke doesn't throw the best pattern with 4 buck (though I've only ever pushed 2 3/4 inchers), but I am confident of most pellets hitting. I have always used steel BB's and they have proved wicked on geese, raccoons, beavers, etc, at good range. Lead has got to be even better, right?

Thanks.

I would be interested in hearing the details as to who makes them and where you purchased them from if you don't mind sharing that information. Thanks for your time.

Chizzy

They are actually just Winchester Super X - so it's funny you don't see them more often. I found them at Al Flaherty's, though it didn't look like they were stocking many more than the 2 boxes I bought. At least not in the display case...
