I spoke with both CT 'managers' in town and found they have discretion in firearms/ammo sales. Both have dropped firearms due to BassPro in town being only competition. They can't compete with BigBox pricing. And ammo sales have 'mark-up %-age' defined by 'corporate' so is not competitive either, but they carry 'some' for customer's convenience. And local Wallys have completely dropped firearms AND ammo.
BTW, I got a Hatsan 14" Marineguard pump 3 years age and a Daly 19" semi last summer. Both running fine.

well...the cerakote they use is terrible.
You could flake it off with your finger Nail.
So I sanded the "very thin" cerakote off with ridiculous ease.
surprisingly I found rust spots under it. ???
I took the parts to my buddy and he gave it a good heavy layer of His cerakote. Its dam durable.
so now I am back to basic black.
That sucks. I liked the Sand color it was.

Damn, our Canadian Tire stores in Ontario don't sell shotguns, only air-rifles. Great shotgun! Looks almost as good as the Canuck Commander gold edition that I scooped up!
Ont. CTC stores do sell guns. Just try the Geogetown one ,,,,,,,,LOADS of guns ( shotguns & rifles) , ammo. & accessories.
Most CT here have hunting supplies and limited ammo, not too many have firearms but I’ve seen some nice Benelli at some locations.
This “discretion” may also explains my recent luck at one CT versus another. They were willing to price match some Sako ammo at one location but not the other… it was a tough sell on my part though lol. Typically they’d match a local competitor within 200km or online Canadian store ending in “.ca” … I made a case that although the online store ended in “.com” they are indeed Canadian and also have a brick & mortar store close to another CT … was worth the effort as the CT price was almost 1.5x before the price match, and then I earned another 20% back with a CT money promo lol. If what the one manager at the store who refused to price match said was true, the other store would’ve been losing $ on that sale.
Best to get what you can while you can before prices keep rising into the stratosphere :/
Good on you suita, for standing your ground on that. The only time I buy ammo at CT is when it's 'red tag' discontinued AND marked down a lot. Their prices are crazy high and you're right, they're prob going up more. I bought from LGS but now he's out of everything ammo-wise and NOT going to re-stock. Just selling guns now. No others within 50+ miles so savings need to be significant due to gas cost. Luckily the only thing I'm sort on is .308 - only 300 rounds, mostly hunting grade SPs.
you right. if this was cerakote on my shotgun, I'm an monkeys uncle.
That sanded off way to easy. No effort at all ! And sooo very thin.
UPDATE- Its was a Jammo matic !
if you had the gun pointed "down" and then racked it,..the shell would get caught under the "frame lip" under the barrel.
the frame stuck out about 30 thousands to far and the shell would get stuck under it.
So I carefully used a file and sand paper to Bevell it and make it a bit thinner.
It works absolutely perfect now.
The shell pops out of the mag tube, and the carrier slides it up perfectly. NOT a hint a jamming and getting caught up.
just had to take my time and study it to see why it was jamming. easy fix...good fix.
