Shotgun hurts my face

My cheek bone hurts a little the next day after 100+rounds, but I have been doing this for years and just dissmissed it. Maybe I am shooting wrong too, but more scores are good so I am not changing anything!

Is it that you are getting whacked in the face or is it just the repetitive shooting?
 
Try other guns if you can. And find one that doesn't hurt.

It's all about stock fit. I have shot some that I was in PAIN after 1 round. And others I didn't feel anything.

Get fitted if you have the money for a new stock. You will shoot better as well.
 
As stated before, it is the fit. If you can shoot up to 100 rounds before it gets sore, it is conceivable that the problem is simply a bit too much drop - as the rear of the stock is lower than at the pistol grip, when the gun recoils into your shoulder, your cheek may get hit with angle formed from the top of the stock. As this is also a function of the length of the stock, a cheap way to check would be to add a slip-on recoil pad and see how it feels.

For $200.00 US you can trun any 870-1100-11-87 into a quality Trap gun.
He has no stock at present but will be back up and running likely in a few months or so.
I have a set on order for myself and can see a few of the users at our club going this way.
You could take an express and add stocks a middle bead, adjust and be good to go for around or less than 600.00 with fully adjustable trap configuration.

I have the same problem with my k98, I hit myself in the face with my right hand. Get one of those slip-on neoprene shellholder type do-hickeys, it will cushion the recoil, and make your cheek weld more consistant.
 
I keep getting wacked when shooting doubles. I shoot 3 rounds of 100 and went home with a headache the size of Alberta. I am heading out today for some instruction, so I will see how it goes.

When you get a gun to fit you will see what you have been missing....literally! Seriously, get some help or your shooting will suffer when you get the flinch happening.

That's a lot of shooting for one day, especially when you are getting hit. Go see someone who can help you fit your gun to you. It will be the best money you've ever spent. It will hurt less, and even better, your scores will go up.

I was having the same problem with a Remington 870, my instructor gave me valuable advice..."Bring the gun to your eye, not the other way around".

I also recently discovered that a Remington 870 Tactical, with pistol grip, gives me a better mount. I've experienced no bruising this year so far.
