what’s an opposite of a gunnut? would it be a gun illiterate? anyway I’m dealing with one right now, trying to help a buddy to find a value on this shotty, all he knows is that it’s a Winchester (i think it may be a M59) and he wants to find out the value of it,
any help is appreciated

Winchester 1400? That V shaped stock socket is Winchester for sure.

yes, after some prompting my buddy found some stamps; Model 1400 12ga, 1964
anyone has an idea on the value?

As it got removable chokes? Maybe $500

I am glad he was able to read the barrel stamping... I was just going to say it sure looks like a 1400.

I found them not particularily good.

will have to look up what issues it had to advise my friend how to proceed with it, its a clean looking gun, doesn't look it had much use

it has a two piece plastic cartridge guide system which break on a regular basis they the parts have not been available for 40 years
if you buy it and it works that's great when it breaks its done
it had other issues as well
