Shotgun lights (Chicken defence)

So if anyone is wondering about the Fenix TK-12 that sillymike posted, it is crazy bright. I just got mine and tried it out tonight in the yard against my Fab Speedlight. Holy mother of light! Easily twice as bright as the speedlight with a really wide beam, I love it

I just got mine awhile ago as well, talk about freakin bright. I also got the remote switch endcap/pressure pad- pretty slick. Now I| just got to find the time to manufacture a few items so I can sink it into the mag tube on my Dominion Arms Mag-Fed.

Buy and enjoy, but have a look at the Olight M20 2010 and the Jetbeam, all available out of Toronto through J2led. Not that I'm against spending money in the USA who seem to think that All products should be made in the USA and those companies that produce steel in Canada can suck a hose. Personally haven't spent a cent in the USA since Obama came in.

I use a Tacstar clamp mounting a Noma 1 Watt Led from Canadian Tire to patrol for coyotes and make sure my animals are safe and sound.

I have shot birdshot, buckshot, and slugs and the light still works.

applefarmer, fenix is actually chinese! and boomer I got mine from opticsplanet dot com. mostly because they accept (FRAUD ALERT) and I didnt feel like searching elsewhere. There may be Canadian dealers though. The TK-12 R5 is just plain amazing for under $100 CAD shipped to me. Doesnt come with batteries but I couldnt care less, it has several light outputs for everything from map reading to burning the eyes out of anything you point it at

I have a BT (battle tested) paid $44 at surplus, uses LED and has a laser, and mounts on picatiny rail i use for a .22 rimfire.
Seriously, i would buy a Fenix or Surefire 6 and a decent mount. You can always take the flashlight off and use it, for a very functional flashlight.

Gee... I'm kind of disapointed :( I thought this was going to be a thread about which shotgun/ammo is best used against a possible chicken invasion... :D

Can't help you much with the light... Don't know how well the 'generic' light would handle recoil...

For a little more money, you could get a TK12

A++++ on the TK-12. Mine will melt the eyeballs out of a coon before I can shoot it! What a great light, and get the 18650 battery for it.

I have mine mounted with a Vltor quick release offset mount on the rail that comes with the Nordic clamp Im running. You ever buy things, not knowing if theyre going to work out for your specific application, then find they work perfectly together? I love that... The Vltor clamp fits perfect and grips the light very tightly, stays locked and comes off easy and the knurled 1" portion of the light just happens to be a few thou longer than the clamp. I couldnt make it any better :D
