I'm trying to figure out what size (diameter and height) should be mid bead on Beretta or Benelli shotguns. I would like to make and install one but all I can find from suppliers is a size of the threads. Can one of you guys can measure it for me please?

I preferred a rather small bead... about 50 thou.

It's purpose is only to check your position on the stock when target shooting... when hunting you never notice it... or you shouldn't notice it...

Thanks. I'm aware of the purpose of the bead. I'm new to shooting shotgun so I need all help I can get. I can make a bead any size but would be nice to start with the original size. Anyone? Thanks.

I don't believe there is an "original size" but the small mid bead I first installed on customers guns 50 years ago were small, white, and about 50 thou. I have seen beads used as mid beads that were 125 thou and looked huge.

... and mid beads should not be midway on the barrel... 12 to 14 inches back from the muzzle into a rib 'stud' is best.

New to shot gunning... get an experienced shooter to stand behind you on the trap line and watch where your misses go...
