I purchased an 8.5" Dominion Arms Grizzly mag-fed shotgun. As the intended use of this shotgun is to be purely wildlife defense, I am looking for illumination solutions for it.

I'm not really interested in spending a ton of cash on it, as I think it is silly to spend more on mounts/lights than the price of the gun (read surefire fore-ends).

I noticed on Canada Ammo they had a cheap fore-end and flashlight for sale, but am unsure if it will fit the 8.5" mag-fed model of the Grizzly.

Any other ideas? Simple barrel mounts? A small piece of pic rail on the fore-end and a light mount?

Pics are always welcome!

Thanks!

Bill

Mount a Maglight with a scope ring. Yes, I know. It's not a true "weapon light" that will please those at the range... But it's cheaper and durable enough for shotgun use. A cheap weapon light will not last too long on a shotgun. Especially with a 8.5 barrel.

The dlask railed fore end seems like a no brainer for your gun.

At a sub-total price of $100 just for the forend, I can easily see the fore-end and light/mount costing me around $400 after taxes and shipping. Still a little more than I am willing to spend at the moment.

Perhaps one day if I decide I want to run a vertical grip on the front, but for now, price is a little steep.

Running a vertical grip is the no brainer part of getting the railed foreend. The bonus is now you have an easy mounting solution for your light as well!
You should be able to get a light for $100 and a grip for maybe $30 so maybe $250 for a gun that is comfortable to operate and has a light.

I had the same thoughts. But in the end, you will have to spend the cash...

Foregrip is a must, for me anyway. I can either burn or shoot off the end of my thumb in trade for pinching my palm with every cycle.

Getting the Dlask rail with a grip is a good finical decision.

I picked up a light holder that fits into my side saddle…. got it on the EE… have no idea who makes it. Works ok for what it is. Just install every evening when needed. Cost me 10 bucks.
The light… about a hundred I think… Fenix tk15
