Shotgun Presses

Don't know if one press can do both but there might be info on the Ponsness/Warren site at http://www.reloaders.com/ or the Mec site at http://www.precisionreloading.com/mec_reloading_presses.htm

BTW I'm curious myself since I want to start reloading for my HP9-14. Everything I've read says shooters who have some sort of progressive still use e.g. a Lee Load-All II for slugs.

I have a single stage mec
i have found anthing larger than # 4 SHOT some times needs a tap to get all the shot down

buck shot etc have to count out and put in by hand
(shot in one hand hull in other and just roll shot in to hull and fold crimp)

lyman sabot slug i have to put in wad and feed in with machine (fold crimp)

get the lyman shotshell book

You will have to count in the buckshot and sometimes it has to be stacked a certain way, not easy to set up and run progressive.

Thanks jhsf. My range doesn't allow anything over 7 1/2 shot for fun shooting so I haven't run into the problem yet. Maybe once I start hunting with a shotgun.

Where I live, we try not to shoot anything larger than # 7 1/2 straight up...

Those aren't bad, but it goes from mosquito bites to bee stings as the shot gets larger when they come down...

My small town range, Oliver BC, is simply, be respectful and don't destroy stuff. My city range, Kelowna BC, is still don't destroy stuff. No shooting at 7 yard pistol targets with shotguns. No shotguns in the pistol shed actually, but there is a 20-25 yard board up for shotgun play just outside.

I'm way off topic, the only shotshells I reload are 450gr of 7 1/2 shot behind 12gr of unique with cardboard wads in a 45-70 casing.

They are ok up close, but I don't expect to break any clays with them. Ever...
