the slugs i use in my muzzle loader and the slugs for a rifled deer barrel are they the same in design not neccesarily the same like interchangeable but the same in design? i am trying to wrap my head around this and it seems a little abstract any hel;p to clarify would be appreciated

It would be easier if your "slugs" can be insert in a shotgun wad... Otherwise, you need to find a "slug" with the right diameter for your barrel and you need to find the right combination of filler/spacer to seal it of from the powder.
i am thinking that they would have a sabot in the shell which would act like a wad or do you need to use a wad, you've seen the ammo i am talking about i just want to be able to reproduce it at home. the bullet or slug that i am speaking of looks like a rifle bullet albeit a large (50 cal) bullet but a bullet just the same for use in rifled shotgun barrels only i have some books i have been looking at i may have to go to a store that sells reloading supplies and put the components in my hand so i can visualize it. anyone know any good stores in and around my neck of the woods? there is williams arms in port perry and they are good guys any other suggestions?
i was just speaking with stu from winchester arms and he was saying that no one he knows of makes the components to create the ammo i want to create so do i need to sort of maverick this i don't know if i am the guy qualified to try this experiment i am really pretty so i don't want a gun to blow up in my face has anyone ever reproduced shotgun ammo similar to a remington slugger in 23/4 inch 12 guage?
