I've been looking at Scopes for my 870 Rem and it seems the more I look, the more confused I get. The vision in my right eye isn't that great (I have a small astigmatism) and I hate wearing glasses when I shoot. I was wondering if anyone out there has a recommendation on a scope. I would like a scope that I can get just a little bit of magnification(Fixed or Adjustable) so I could shoot no more than about 75 yards and even that might be a stretch. I would be using buckshot, and possibly the odd rifled slug. The barrel is 20" and uses an improved cylinder choke. This shotgun is something I would like to carry with me when I'm in the bush and basically use it for protection if needed, so anything I would possibly encounter wouldn't be that far away, but I would like to see the target a lot more clearly than I can with the naked eye. So, what are you guys using out there? Any info would be appreciated and thanks in advance....

Vortex spitfire, I have this on my M4, and plus it's a prism sight for those of us with astigmatism it does wonders

That's good to hear. I was looking at the Spitfire but was wondering if it might be better to go with the 3x instead of the 1x. I have 20/20 vision in my left eye but only have about 20/50 in the right eye along with the slight astigmatism.(Guess which side I shoot) so I was hoping for something in a scope that would work like having 20/20 vision in the right eye using iron sights and be able to get quick access to the target. I was also looking at the Steiner M332 and the Burris AR-332 in 3X. Do you find the 1x gives you enough magnification to offset your astigmatism?
Thanks for your response...:)

I have Aimpoints on all my shotguns . Fast to aquire the dot and shoot and great field of view as you shoot both eyes open and the batteries last for years .
