Shotgun scope recommendations

I have a cheap bushnell 3-9x scope on my 20 gauge slug gun. It has the DOA 200 reticle on it which is fairly accurate. It keeps drifting to the right so I suspect that the internals are done. I've already been through the warranty process with it so I'm not really interested in going down that road. I used to have a leupold ultimate slam and liked that scope as well. It seems that there are not really any options for shotgun specific scopes any more. Any recommendations? Budget $500 or less.

Do you require the magnification? If not, you might want to consider a red dot like the Vortex Viper Shotgun Red Dot.

Yeah I don't really want a red dot. Some of my shots are 150+ yards. Most are 50 and in but sometimes I've got to stretch it out a bit. I had a 2-7 before and now it's 3-9x. Problem is to use the DOA reticle it has to be at full magnification.

it's just outside of your budget at 520.00 +/-10.00 but the leupold vx freedom 1.5-4x20 might serve you well if you aren't looking for a higher magnification scope. I have a couple of the older gen 1-4x20 and the scopes are quite light and seem to be reliable enough.

They used to make a shotgun model 1-4, I think they were VX1 or 2's with slightly thicker reticle. I had one on my 20ga slug gun for a few years and shot half a dozen deer with it.

Why not a a leupold ultimate slam ??

There is this great sub forum called the EE.
I knew a guy who used VX I's on his trap guns.
Guys at the local club on Sidaway Rd laughed at him, but eventually some saw his technique prove them wrong.
Diabetes got the better of him, RIP Dennis H.
