Hey guys, I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 2-7x32 scope. I bought a used Winchester 94 and it came with the scope. I decided I rather just used the irons on the 94 and take the scope off. Anyway, would the scope hold up on my Mossberg 535 with 3" slugs?
The scope should be ok, I'd worry more about the bushnells eye relief or lack of it when using a slug gun. I've been using a Nikon prostaff 2-7x32 for 6 years or so and no issues with it.
Your scope will be fine on your shotgun ..you may want to rethink the three inch slugs .there is nor enough difference between the three inch and the reg Two and three quarters to justify the price and recoil. Every deer I have shot with both the 12g and 20g abd a lot with the 16 g .have been threw and threw shots .there really is no need for a three inch slug bow a days .if you stand them up side by side you will see that their is not much difference in appearance.I like the shorter slugs because there is less chance of short strocking and jamming your gin in the heat of the monument. Thy have all the power you will ever need and thy are cheaper
Make sure you have good mounts that allow your eye to be lined up to the scope with a proper cheek weld. I don't think a 3 inch slug would be a problem with a bushnell elite, but as others have mentionned the 2 3/4" slug is plenty.
