Price range???
Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 DOA200 or 1.75-4x32 circle x reticle ~$200
Nikon Slughunter 3-9x40 BDC ~$250-$300
Leupold Freedom 3-9x40 with SBR reticle ~$350
If you don't care about the DOA reticle, SAIL has the Trophy 3-9 on for $99. I just ordered one for a buddy's slug barrel. Although they mailed me a tackle box instead but that's a discussion for a different thread.
Leupold 1-4 shotgun VX1 with a heavy reticle. In thick bush or early/late hunting hours the thick reticle really helps. You loose a thin reticle in the bush or dim light.
Look for the bushnell banner scopes with circle x reticles. But i will say the cross hairs are thicker on the scopes with circle x reticle but they are great. I have two in lower power magnifications. But if you like the gun and like the way it shoots dont be afraid to spend on a leopuld.
I wont lie though. My fav shotgun set up is my 590 with a bushnell AR scope(meant for 223). 1-4 with iluminated reticle. At 1 power and even no battery its a small circle and at 4 power its a decent sized circle with a center point.
I put a Nikon slughunter on my rifled 870 barrel, 2x7x32mm and med Burris zee rings. It’s nice and low to the rail and barrel, perfect amount of magnification for me.
