So I'm just getting into shotgun shell reloading and of course can't find anyone in Canada that sells hulls...In particular 20 gauge...I know that I can find em at the range or the gravel pits however I'd like a reliable source of new plastic if I can get them...Anyone know any dealers or sponsors that sell em....I will reload the new shotshells that I have purchased but I want a reliable source...Can you buy them from the States? Precision reloading in MN sells em but I don't know if they ship to Canada...Thanks in advance.

Generally speaking you want once-fired hulls, new can be a PIA to get a decnt first crimp on. The usual source is to fire a flat of factory ammo and save the hulls, or visit a local skeet/trap field and hope the 20ga guys aren't all reloaders.

Once Irv's Shooting Supply closed in Ontario a few years ago we lost our canadian source for 1X hulls IMO. I managed to save a lot since the 60's and took everything Lloyd (Irv's) had left in the small gauges at the time and later this winter it may be time for me to share some of the other 12ga and 20ga I rarely reload now and with my age have more than enough to take me to my grave
Send me a PM and I will keep it for that time if still interested

As far as buying state side I have also done that a lot over the years but although it is indeed legal to ship shotgun shell hulls to canada many have stopped plus customs people donot always know the rules and I have had a few batches taken in the past few years so now when I do get some state side I always make sure it is enough to make the shipping worthwhile since it is very expensive now with the new US postal rates to canada plus I will now go through Prophet River and pay as if if was controlled to make sure I get them

Last batch was 3000 Remington of 10 ga and 3 1/2 12ga for steel shot reloading which I just could not find anywhere in Canada
I have some 20ga remington gun clubs which I put away for a member back in May I think and he has not come for them
They are compression formed and reload pretty well. I will send him a pm to see if he still wants them
Other than that buy new flats and save them or talk to other shooters and have them pay the extra for new flats of quality shells knowing you will take the hulls for reloading at an agreed price
Lots of guys doing that I find now
Cheers

Shooter's Choice carried hulls the last time I was in there. No idea of prices. Epp's will have 'em too. Where you are in Northern Ontario matters. If there's a gun shop, they can order anything you want.
Like 3macs1 says, shotgun stuff is dealt with differently than rifle/handgun components, Stateside. Rules come from their Dept. of Commerce vs State. Lot less fuss to buy 'em here.

I reload 20ga and my favorite hull is remington gun club. I usually buy a couple of flats a work off them for quite a while.

Sounds good. I ended up with quite a batch after buying a friend out and most of my experience with them was the feedback from the guys that bought them from me. No complaints so far
Us older guys still have the stashes of vintage AA we reload 90% of the time and some STS in 20ga :)
