Shotgun sight bead change?

Shooting a Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus and realizing that the fibre sight actually distracts me from finding and following the target. I have an early 80s Citori that just has a simple bead, and I have no problem with that.

Does anyone know what's involved in changing out the sight on a A400? Is it red locktighted, thus requiring heat that could mess up the camo wrap? Or can I just gently use pliers to unscrew the sight and replace with a bead?

Likewise, I have another early 90s Citori that also has a fibre sight? What's involved in replacing that one, and where could I find a simple bead to install?

I needed a bead and tap/drillbit.
They supplied what I needed.
They have a minimum order charge, so make a list.

All of my Beretta semi auto beads just unscrew buy the corresponding threaded bead and screw it back in. Stoeger Canada sells beads for beretta

Just mask the barrel and spray paint it whatever colour you want, same as what your going to buy.Krylon works well and sticks to almost anything!

I changed out the fiber ft bead on a Beretta Teknys for a simple Bradley white 1/2 ball I got from Stoeger Canada. Took seconds...put the Bradley on with a bit of blue Loctite.

They are simple to install, unscrew old bead, find correct screw in package that fits, screw down base, then choose what colour works for you

The OP wants to get away from fibre optic because he finds it distracting from concentrating on the target. I have used your suggested option on a hunting gun and it worked great.

Just put a dab of black paint on the part of the fibre facing you. Or gold, or white.
