Shotgun sight question

I have a Stoeger Double Defense shotgun. If you are not familiar with the gun, it has picatinny rail mounted on it for sights/scopes. I use it to blast stumps, targets, etc. It is just a general shotgun for having at the cottage. I'm not going to go so far as to call it a toy, but that description wouldn't be far off. I bought it to use and abuse.

I am looking for an inexpensive sight for it. It's an inexpensive gun, and a shotgun at that, so accuracy isn't "super" important. I wouldn't even bother putting a sight on it, but I like loading slugs into it and trying to hit things out to 50 metres.

If possible, I would like to pay less than $100 as this is not a percission instrument and if i can hit a large pizza pan at 50 metres, thats good enough. that said, I don't want a cheap Canadian Tire pellet gun sight on it either.

Do any of you out there have similiar set ups? What do you use? Does anybody know of some products that I should look for be it used or new?

Thanks in advance.

I say sight, but it could be a scope. I don't see any point in getting much magnification though. It's a close range weapon after all.

I just want to put something there because I can. Have a little fun with it. Still, I don't want to buy "complete" garbage either.

As for the airgun sights, they are these little plastic red dot point sights made to be put on airguns and paintball guns. They cost about $20 and are sold under the Crossman and Brass Eagle brands that I know of.

So, by chance I found myself at a different Canadian Tire than usual and they had Tasco Red Dot point sights for $49.95+tx. It said on the package that it was a shotgun sight and rated to take a 3" shell. Perfect. If it doesn't work well on the Double D, then I will throw it on my 597. Thank you all for the input and the PM's.

Now to find a cheap flashlight for under the barrel.
