I finally installed my S&J Single Point Sling on my Marine Magnum yesterday, and spent the entire day today hunting for groundhogs (only got one - saw 2). Anyway, I saw these things back when Simon only had a few available on his test guns, and I was impressed then. Other things came up in life, and I never actually bought the sling and adapter until last week for my own gun.
Man, this is by far the best way to carry a gun. I could walk and pick up stuff freely, but the shotgun was hanging just out of the way in case I needed it (like when the woodchuck popped his head out of the hole and I wasn't even holding onto the gun). In this case, I was able to grab the gun and shoot the little rodent before he got back down the hole. Had the gun been slung over my shoulder, he would surely have gotten away. I can definetly see this being an asset when you are deer hunting...no one likes to carry their gun in the ready position all day, but the minute you sling the damn thing over your shoulder is the minute you need the gun. So, the moral here is...put one of these things on your 870...I think it is great. I also purchased a Blue Force Gear SOC-C Sling with the adapter to go with the plate. I can't say enough good about this...I wish the gun had come with this setup.

The Blue Force Gear slings do have adaptors that fit on any stocks for 1, 2 or 3 point.

The sling plates BBB makes work much better for single point carry, however until he starts making them for others than the Rem. :p the BFG loop adaptor work.

Yah know I'm looking at stuff I Googled on the Blue Force Gear slings, and methinks they are asking allot of money for $15 worth of Nylon webbing and plastic buckles & slides.

Dare I ask what you paid for yours, and who carries it here in Kanuckistan?

Some Canadian dealers you can contact for the Blue Force Gear slings are:

Target Sports Center

P&D Enterprises

Elwood Epps

Wheelers/ CP Gear

1 RCR Kit Shop

Valley Gunsmithing

Oh yes, and us :D

They are the only sling that will do 1, 2 and 3 point with one sling, attach to any firearm in the world, comes in 4 color chooses, are IR coated and are more comfortable than any other sling out there. ;D
