Wonder what type of sling I should use on the Mossberg 500 Persuader Desert 18.5" shotgun when it arrives. It has the normal full sized stock and need it for packing while hunting/hiking.

I'm looking for something preferably in desert tan (to match the shotgun). :D

Well la de da Mr. I'mtoogoodtospendmoney.

:p

Check out uncle mikes stuff then.

2 Point slings under $100;

SOC-C (Base sling) $44.99

VCAS $62.99

Padded VCAS $72.99

;)

Thanks for pointing those out and they are nice (The VCAS is nice and simple) but after taxes, shipping, and from it looks like something to attach the sling to my swivels already on the shotgun is still going to raise the price over $100. :D

I bought the sling for my .22 for $30 from CT (came with quick detach things to clip onto the swivels) after taxes and if the damn thing was in coyote tan it would be a dream come true.

This will be a hiking firearm so all I need is a cheap sling to keep it on my back, didn't think it would be hard to find one in tan color. Maybe I'll try to dye the one I have for the .22. :p

I also didn't thing someone could spend over $100 on a sling, shows how much I know about firearms and accessories! :D

"...Not really willing to spend that much..." Agreed. Spending $100 plus on a sling is nuts. At least the Mossberg comes with swivel studs.
Use a Sterling SMG sling on my 870(21" barrel). Goes long enough to carry the shotgun across my back.
Mind you, I don't care if it matches the shotgun. You're not making a fashion statement. It is canvas, so you could dye it if you really want tan. A No. 4 Lee-Enfield sling is tan though. $14.95(geez, who'da thunk it) at Marstar. Either will go on regular detachable swivels with no fuss.
Marstar has a selection of milsurp slings. A Sterling sling runs $19.95.

Normally I don't care what color the sling is, the only reason is because the shotgun is done in desert camo I figured I might as well go with Tan.

The sling I bought from CT is the "Original Super-Sling 2+ with TALON swivels" which I like AND I just noticed that it comes in TAN. So now I just need to find a one! :D

"...with TALON swivels..." Having the swivels makes it a lot easier. Go look in your local gun shops.

CT is the only place I know that brings them in and they only carry the black. Maybe I'll see if CG can special order them in although for double the price of what CT asks I can just order it straight from the manufacturer. :D

Won't be going to town for a few days and the shotgun transfer is still under review so I have some time! :(

As for easier, I love how easy and quick they are to take off!

Make sure you keep your receipt. I bought one of those a while back for my 20" Persuader and it didn't even come close to fitting. In fact it was a few inches too short to even attach when fully expanded let alone shoulder! I suspect that a 6-shot magazine might still be a bit too long for it.

Yes, the CT slings and Marstar slings are probably more what you are looking for, as all you want to do, from the sounds of it, is sling it over your shoulder. You can make your own paracord sling in tan for like $5 ;)

Depends on the sling.

A CT sling made in China is not worth even $20 however....

a Blue Force Gear sling, made in Georgia, for the M60/C6 machine gun, with Nomex webbing, Vickers adjustment, large MASH hooks, heavy duty shoulder pad and has a lifetime warranty on it, well.......... many, many soldiers and units seem to think it's worth it. ;)

That's true, IF I was packing around an M60 or another large machine gun then $100 would be well worth it! :D

Got one for my Savage MkII so I can try that before ordering.

Those are nice but I'm just NOT that resourceful :D
