Shotgun steel shot: 12 ga 2-3/4 #6???

Hi all,

Does anyone know who would carry those? I know Kent and and Remington makes them but I can't find any stores who stock them. I need #6 because I'm trying to switch from lead to steel for Grouse hunting, anything bigger would probably be too much for grouse. 7 1/2 shots would be ideal but they don't make those!

Challenger and Federal make a decent #7 target load in steel it will promptly kill a grouse. Check out the big "C" no plug not a contributing dealer.

I've tried #7 steel on doves at 30 yards and it is not effective. Lots of feathers and lost birds I switched to #6 and it kills 100% better

I don't know what gauge you are shooting, but last time I was through on my way to Fredericton the gas station in Cambridge Narrows had a couple boxes of federal steel 20 gauge steel 6's. Check your CT and Fredericton Outfitter's I believe they both had the winchester Xperts 7's at the start of the summer.
I run steel 4's a lot with an improved choke when I am jump hunting beaver pond woodies and black ducks and they work well on the grouse I come across too.
