Ok so I was down at the Wholesale sports and powder keg in kamloops today and seen some "tacticool" stuff for shotguns and thought it might be cool to spiff my HP9 (870 clone) up abit.

so I bought a universal barrel shroud (that apparently aint universal lol) and I bought a Tac-star 870 side saddle and an ati adjustable stock.

well the barrel shroud dont fit (cant get the barrel back on so I have remove alittle bit of metal from the rear clamps no big deal really just kinda annoying but what do you expect with that universal stuff i guess)

now the one that kinda dissapointed me was this side saddle that doesnt even come close to fitting right. I can't #### the gun anymore cause the saddle is in the way of the foregrip coming back.

the only good thing was the ati 870 stock witch works beautifully.

so I ask myself what the hell?? is it cause the hp9 is somehow slightly diffrent maybe the forestock is longer or something?? Im pretty sure they are more or less the same as far as dimensions go?

if thats the case then WTF is tac-star doing? an 870 specific saddle that dont fit on an 870? well it fits on it but it makes the gun into a club witch it attached. maybe thats the idea? i dunno first experiance witch fancing up a shotty and im not that impressed. maybe it's my own fault and did something wrong or maybe I got the wrong part, just looking for some quick input on this.
pics to follow.

anyone else have problems with accesories and the HP9??

(excuse the spelling, grammar and whatnot lol)

lol yes and yes, but I never even thought of that when I bought the thing it was more like oooo thats cool. it never even dawned on me cause I just read that it fits an 870 so i never gave it a second thought.

do 870's not have a forestock like that?
I really don't know, thats why im asking you guys cause i wanna know if I just f**ked up or if the gun is somehow diffrent or what.

by the first respone it sounds like Im just an idiot  and should have look at it more closley not thinking that an 870 saddle will only fit certain kinds. I guess I need the 4shot one. what kinda 870 will the 6shot work on then? or is it just an hp9 thing where they dont work?

anyway here's what it looks like.

I guess im just disapointed is all. :( not like it cost much money either so no big loss just wanted to make sure they didnt give me the wrong part or something.

thanks
Kyle.

Sidesaddles (6 rounders, anyway) are designed to work with the short, or 'police' forends. Stock 'long' ones will get in the way.

5 minutes with a dremel tool, and you're laughin. Seriously - be careful and you can make it looks pretty good.

I dont really wanna cut anything, does anyone sell the short police forends? i just did a quick look at knoxx and tac-star and didnt see anything besides the pistol grip style witch i dont like.

thanks

You can order just about any kind of forend you want from Brownell's, I would suggest either the Hogue Overmolded or the Speedfeed LE forend. Just remember to keep your order total under $100 USD {which does not include taxes or shipping} and you're good to go.

If you don't want to by a new fore end (I do recomend the Hogue overmold) Tacstar does make a shorter four shot holder.

Just cut it. Take off the forend and then clamp it down and take your time. Then sand it smooth.

Heres my 870 Express two days after I got it new from LeBaron with a 6 shot tac-star and some Trijicon Ghost Rings ala TacOrd.

You need to "chopper off" chopperhead!

A chop saw will be easier then a dremel.....bit of hand sanding and you are done!

Remove the foreend first...

The EE is full of good 870 accessories and parts. I could go broke there in a second!:sniper:

I just cut a notch out where the SS would have contacted the forend. The only throuble with aftermarket parts I have had is with +1 extensions. Not all fit.
