Shotgun vs Muzzle loader in Ontario

Yeah looks like |I will have some reading to do here to catch up on all the issues. I wonder who came up with the 270 under bore rule for coyotes etc. What happens if you are hunting wolf and deer....

Why 20 over a 12 ga - are you thinking for recoil? The only time it would be really noticeable is sighting in. I find I don't really ever notice when shooting at game. Hunted with 338 win mag and 45/70 so should be fine. And of have fired slugs off in my 12 ga. Will think about the 930 - have heard there are feeding issues with the 535.

20 gauge guns are generally lighter, and less bulky. Much nicer to carry around, and doesn't give up much in terminal performace.

Last week, I received an Ontario Bass Pro Shops fall/hunting flyer. I think they had Rem 870 Express with a fully rifled barrel for $369 and a combo (vent rib barrel with chokes and a fully rifled barrel) for $469. These seem reasonable prices for the fully rifled models.

So I bought a muzzle loader CVA wolf with a 3-9 Bushnell Elite which included a bunch of supplies. Partly do to price and what was available. I like how it functions like a break action and stores the primer in the gun nice and dry. I will try it out this season and see how I like it. I also like having a solid forearm compared to the play in the slide of the pump shotguns. Thanks all for points etc to consider. I still have a pump Remington 31 with a smoothbore that I could use slugs with but will stick to the ML for now.
