Shotguns, Birds & Bird Dog Pics Thread

Jay, Nos looks like he's quite the accomplished hunter. They're great versatile dogs aren't they. Always love their beards :)

Thanks to everybody who's shared so far. Great pictures.

Thanks! But he does come with other 'issues'... Friggen dog was lucky to survive this encounter with a porcupine, which he killed.

Here he is as a pup with what I think was his first bunny...

Argh!!! Had a pair of close calls with my lab. One involved a baby porcupine the size of a large grapefruit, but the mouthful of tiny needle-like quills was manageable. The next porky was a big one, but the nick-of-time e-collar jolt was even bigger. I helped pull quills out of a hound's mouth a couple years ago at our remote camp. The poor dog passed out during the process.

I guess there are some draw backs to living on an island. But not one snake, skunk, raccoon or porcupine to be found here. Those quills just look terrible.

A picture from several years ago where I took a friend's son out with his new lab pheasant hunting with my third Britt Rebel (70lbs of speed and happy) The lad was using one of my loaner shotguns, an old 870 IIRC.

That is a good sized brittany. Love the breed

Looks like the "bearded warriors" are pretty popular dogs with Canadian Gunnutz eh! They're a pretty cool breed no doubt.

I hear you hunter5425! I thought this thread would be a good idea to satisfy and tie a guy over till bird season, but I gotta admit its got me ready and rearing to get out after some birds!

From the looks of things y'all been keeping company with some great bird dogs. Glad to see em all.

Here's a couple of our little buggar doing our best to put some Blues up.

He's sure theres a grouse or two down there even though we just hiked up from there :)

Also don't feel like a picture or post has to have Shotguns, Birds, AND Bird Dogs. Any one of the three is fine, hell even a shot of some nice bird country after or before a hunt is fine. Long time till Sept, gotta help each other through to it :)

No dogs in the pics but birds and guns. Two out of three.....

Better not let Scout see this post. She'll be pissed I hunted anything or anywhere without her. LOL

This one is Spring, Ontario, Turkey and a Fox SW 16 gauge:

This next one is Fall, Nebraska, Sharptail and a MF Ideal grade 5 16 gauge:

Sharpies & Huns in Alberta: The GSP (Sky) belongs to my friend Rick. Can't wait to get out to AB again!!

Here's my current old dog ( 9 years) who has a bit of a heart issue but the meds seem to be working I'm using my Franchi Renaissance which has become my new favorite replacing my trusty but heavier Beretta A303.
