A friend of mine got his hands on some old shotgun and I couldn't find any information about in the Net.

It is from Cambridge Arms, serial number 19836.

The gun's a 12 gauge, Side-By-Side, External Hammered, Double triggered.

As wierd as it may be, chambers appear to be 3", and it has a rear sight in addition of the front bead *edit, chambers are 2"3/4, not 3"*

The gun is engraved with a wolf, and it doesn't look like a Bubba engraving job.

Any informations about it?

I should have pictures of it shortly.

Pics are up. Had bad lighting conditions combined with a cheap camera, so I had to 'enhance' the pictures digitally, so the quality isn't really good.

Definitely Belgium.

There is a brief mention of Cambridge Arms in Carder's SxS of the World and all it says is, "Maker, quality and history unknown."

From looking at this gun it appears to be one of the many cheaply made Belgian guns that found it's way to North America early in the last century. It's a somewhat crudely manufactured gun that is definitely off the face.

What I don't see in the proof marks is a nitro proof. Also are you sure it's a 12 gauge? The proofs are hard to see but it looks like a 16 over the letter "c" in a square border which should mean 16 gauge.

In any event this gun is what is called "JABC." Just Another Belgian Clunker. It's a wall hanger.

Thanks for the info guys.

As for the gauge, my friend is 100% sure it is a 12, as he chambered and shot 12 gauge shotshells out of both barrels without any problems.

But it'll probably finish as a wallhanger as you guys says, I had the occasion to handle the shotgun this morning and it's loose as hell, almost 1/16" or 1/8" of play in every possible direction.
