Sorry if this is in the wrong section,

I decided to try and make a belt holder to store 5 shells for a shoot we had, and I came up with this, not as cool as the injection molded one brownells has but it did the job:

(tried to shrink it but had no luck, delete if too big, sorry)

Made a few to see if having it sit higher or lower was better, I settled with the higher sitting one.

Let me know what you think,

John

Very, very cool. There's nothing better than home made gear. Did you use sheet metal or aluminium, and are those rivets or screws?

Thanks for the feedback guys. It's made of Kydex with a g clip on the back.

Dave: the tab is there so that the shells don't drop out the bottom. I made it so that even if the shell is canted it'll still come out of the top.

Regards,

John

P12: I used a oven and a heat gun.

Still messing around with the idea I made an ambi one for my duck hunting friend, so if he wanted to switch it over to the other side all he has to do is take the screws out and flip it around so the rims are at the rear.

Here is a link to a vid showing usage of side saddle and this type of shotshell holder(caddy) reloading for anyone interested.
