Shoud I get a second cheap SKS?

I'm sad because I only own 2 SKSs. I keep thinking about that $75 dollar deal but I want an SVT40 for my next purchase. I need to win that lottery.

Hey guys

As you probably know, Marstar.ca are selling model 56 Chinese Military SKS 75$ if you buy 1400 7.62x39 rounds. It's kind of a dilemma for me because, on the first side I already own one refurbished russian SKS, while on the other, 75$ is 40% of the regular price on their website! What do you think of this? Is there any interest owning a second SKS, if you don't really care about making a collection out of it (collection of refurbished SKS lol)? Does the chinese SKS shows real differences than the russian version, beside the appearence?

Cheers!

In my humble opinion.. yes you should buy one for many reasons.
Owning more guns is just being a good Canadian for one.
Hopefully you get one that shoots ok and you can pimp it out with nothing lost, as you may feel guilty whoring a Russian.
If it doesnt shoot ok, pimp it out anyways, or bubba it up as you wish... Nothing lost, just lots of fun and learning by doing it.. and blast away at the range.
Most importantly, have fun shooting it.:D

I have 3 SKS's... 1 Russian and 2 Chinese and next year i think i will buy another one from West Rifle...i love the SKS!!

If I had the cash, I'd have bought five of Marstars deal. You always need ammo and more guns, that are #### simple to use, are awesome for new shooters or if things get ####ty out.

The other thing i like to think, and forgive me if i am just being foolish, the more SKS's there are out there in private hands the more hassle they will be to try and take away later.

I am trying to find out what the shipping costs to Vancouver would be on this deal. If shipping both items seperately it could be pricey and maby not that great of a saveing.
They haven't answered my email yet

Sell one of the SKSs, save a little, and buy a SVT40.
Variety is the spice of life.
Then, when you win the lottery, start collectig SKSs, again.
I think they'll still be around.
And even if their price has climbed to $200, it won't matter.:)

These SKS deals always leave me wondering;

How many more unsold SKS rifles are out there? I wonder if anybody knows for sure?

I turn 60 in a couple of months. Although I NEVER bother with birthdays, I knew my family would try to do something about it. I told them if they insist on getting me something for my birthday, it should be an SVT40 or M44 carbine. Or leave me alone.

I so agree with you. There is so many posts that we have seen for Enfields and K98 that people could have bought for 25 bucks. Then there is poor American that wish they bought a crate when they could have in 90th. Now is the chance.
I will guarantee that Russian and Chinese SKS will dry up and then we will hear that story again and again

Cheers

a decade from now .

i can hear "why didnt i buy a dozen? "

Is there anyone that still sells full crates? I think I will buy me a crate of unregistered sks's this summer :)

I am shocked and disappointed in you all- whatever happened to an unbiased opinion?!?

You should only buy another SKS if you can convince your wife it's needed to protect the kids/hunt with. That's what I did anyways.

:D

I still hold by my promise to buy a 10 crate, or at least 10 seperate SKS's when the registry is officially gone, and there are no BS followups like provincial registries.

:D

I already have a refurbed Russian, bout was in the market for a crate of ammo. Bought the $75 SKS with my crate, and immediately sold it to a buddy for $120, to cover my shipping costs. He is happy, I am happy.

His Chinese is freaking beautiful, makes my Rusky look like a mud puddle. I wish I would have swapped them... but that is underhanded and not my style.

A great deal in an unsure time.
