I am right pi ssed with the Central Saskatchewan weather the last few years , hardly ever calm anymore.

Can only get out on weekends and this one is no different, been waiting since 6 a.m. , hasn't calmed down one bit.

I know it's first world problems but frick already.

The 'signal' ("true" point of impact for that load) is already arguably impossible to see inside the 'noise' (group size shot by that load). Trying to do the test in anything less than perfect dead calm conditions I think takes a person even farther from usable data.

Shoot your ladder over a crono to establish your accuracy node. POI shouldn't matter.

The velocity node isn’t always the accuracy node. And poi absolutely matters. Moreover, where multiple charges group together.
Op, if the wind is constant, adjust and for and shoot. If not, you may want to wait for a calmer day.

One of the principles of any kind of testing is to minimize variables so you can find out what the variable you are testing is doing to the results. Wind is not one of the variables you want to test, and wind is never reliably constant, so wind is to be avoided. I do it by testing things in the early morning. Most days are quite calm until about 9:00, and most places I shoot are deserted at that time too, but I often put off any load testing when it's windy. I do lots of shooting in the wind (if you don't, in Saskatchewan you will shoot very little) and learning to dope the wind with any given load needs some wind, but I don't test anything.

I agree with rral22! I quite often get up at 04:30 and I am at the range first thing in the morning. Load development is an expensive endeavour and the wind is a variable I try to mitigate.

30! I wish it would drop to 30 around here... :)

It's always gorgeous and calm in the morning...and miserable by lunchtime. Range opens at noon.
