Working on an upper.

Took off the KAC M4 RAS, which was easy enough.

Flash suppressor took a bit of effort to take off.

Took off the front sight post, which went faster after getting some more tools.

Delta ring/barrel nut came off quick with the new wrench.

So below is it on it's trail assembly with the KAC URX II before everything goes together.

Right now I am cutting one of my front sight/gas blocks down cause I don't have a low pro gas block in my hand.

loose the old school pistol grip and it is a dream gun...very nice...me likey..

Personally, I prefer the gun with the FSB. Not really a fan of ARs without it.

What kind of flashlight/mount is that and how do you like the vortex so far?

Well, it won't be ready for a bit. This is when I need KevinB and Reaper to slap me upside the head and say "nope, that won't work".

I am learning at a very rapid pace though.

So, what I learned, is the URX II requires a very low profile gas block. A FSB (that attaches with screws) cut down, doesn't work. The bottom is still to big to fit the lower section on.

The pinned style FSB might work, but I'm going to wait till the low pro gas blocks arrive in stock.

I'm using a cut down Troy low pro gas block under my URXII.

So, what I learned, is the URX II requires a very low profile gas block.

The Midwest Ind lo-pro gas block is about the lowest profile I have seen. It will fit under just about anything.

I cut the standard FSBs down to fit under the DD Lite rails, which are tight. So tight you have to shorten the taper pins!

Always like the taper pin gas block. You know it's tight.
