Should Glock make other products?

Glock should not diversify. There already is enough Glock block ugly out there. Any more ugly and I will start puking everytime I go to the gun range.

haha, I didn't see much Glock at my range, only stanless revolver and seem like anybody has one. I want to see Glock made revolver maybe, probably more interesting.

I like the idea of the .22 LR but honestly, Glock has such a reputation for reliability in their current design, They would be foolish to try to develop new products and risk they can't quite live up to the high standard and tarnish their reputation. You say Glock and everyone knows what to expect; I say leave it that way.

Bravo, sir!

Glock fireworks: Guaranteed kaboom, ugly packaging.

Glock phone: It's light, rectangular, and you can talk to people. Everyone complains that the power button is too stiff, but Glock engineered it that way, so you don't turn it on accidentally.

Glock boots: They don't feel right at first, but you adapt, and decide you like it better. Then someone mentions you have the left boot on your right foot, and you feel stupid.

Glock pizza: You can only choose one topping, it has a bite out of it from the tester, but the plastic box comes in several sizes.

Glock aftershave: It smells like gunpowder, and leaves black streaks, but soothes razor burn.

Unlike most gun makers, Glock has only one single product.

They make their polymer framed handgun in several calibers, and a few different barrel lengths, but it's basically all the same gun.

Now this gun is obviously selling quite well, and the company doesn't really NEED to expand their horizons.

But I wonder how many consumers wish that Glock would get into some other product lines?

Do you think they should? If so, what else would you like to see Glock producing?

Rifles?
Shotguns?
Revolvers?
1911s?

Anything else?

I personally cant shoot their handguns with any respectful accuracy, so not really looking at them to go anywhere else from where they are...

You do know that Glock started out making other things right???
As to the question, should they diversify their gun line? It would take another leap forward in design before they would/should consider it.
Just my opinion.

No I did not actually.

The only Glock product I've ever seen is their polymer framed pistol.

What did they make before that?

Some of his early patents were for household appliances, I recall somebody mentioning a dishwasher or washing machine in addition to the shovel and knife.

I would like to see a 22lr version (full size, compact, sub-compact) as well as a pistol calibre bullpup. I would love to have a bullpup chambered in 9mm especially if they could make it for under a grand which i could see glock doing or somewhere in that neighbourhood.

Yeah, I bet they could do a nice job with something like that.

A Glock bullpup rifle that's a cross between a Tavor and a JR-Carbine would be pretty cool.

They have made shovels and knives for 20+ yrs..

I bought those field knives less serrations before anyone ever heard of glock pistols. They were just advertised as German field knives for about $15. That was easy 30 years ago. I compared them to a Glock brand knife a year or 2 ago and they were identical. Good knife. nothing fancy but excellent steel

That hoax picture of the 1911 Glock looked cool lol. Dunno I am the wrong person though (not a huge Glock fan so maybe something new may spark my interest)

No. Too many companies have tried to expand their original product line to other categories only to lessen the overall quality and diminish their reputation.

Only exception would be curtain poles...

Glock started out making hardware (not the gun type) for the civilian market and knives/entrenching tools for the Austrian military. He only tried designing a handgun after he heard two generals discussing plans to put out an RFP to the gun manufacturers for a new pistol. According to "Glock - The Rise of America's Gun", they laughed at him when he asked if anyone could participate in the bids.
