Should I buy a CMMG AR bbl??

The CMMG barrels I have seen and I built a gun for a bud using one of their barrels was all good from a visual POV, I keep hearing about soft taper pins but I didn't need to remove those...he has only put a few hundred rounds through it so no boots on the ground experience from me yet.

The reception to CMMG product on AR15.com has been overwhelmingly positive. They're a smaller manufacturer and respond to customer demand, their latest product gives you a lot of "mil-spec" features at a decent price.

Specific advantage? Probably not?

Depends what you're up to, and what twist barrel works better for what you do I guess? Lots of fine shooting Armalite barrels out there, I'm sure lot's of fine shooting CMMG barrels too.

If you shoot 77gn ammo, you'd want the 1/7, 45gn-69gn for sure will work great with a 1/9.

Nothing wrong with either company I would think.

My 1/9 CMMG Midlength works like a charm. Over 1000 rounds through it with no notice of any issues. I am using a Midwest lowprofile gas block too, so I didn't have to worry about pins.
YMMV,
Hoddie.
