im thinking about i cz right now i jsut love the look and feel of them how do they shoot accuracy wise?? also how is the reliablility ill probably buy one (if the liberals dont ban them first) but id like to get a heads up on what to expect.

thanks.

have one ,love it ,very accurate.2inchs at 100m no problem .some groups 1.5inch or under.5shots per group.ammo was norinco .ten power scope and gun cooled between groups. ya buy two!

Inexpensive, fun to trick out, better than good enough accuracy-wise, and have that East-Bloc retro cool look to them. ANd the ammo's cheap. Have one, love it - will likely buy another...just 'cause.

My thoughts exactly.

if your not going to give any helpful feedback please dont waste time with posts like this. thanks.

thanks alot for the feedback got my fingers crossed we dont have all of semi autos banned after the election im gonna reserve a cz asap

I have one, very happy with it, thinking on getting another one...... but stil the question: if Liberals BAN these what will happen with the existed ones ? Should we just sell them or whatever else ?

There is a long way between now and then, just buy one and its one more person with something to lose that will fight bad gun laws and left wing social engineers.

Just bought the CZ858 Tactical package from frontiertaxidermy. The rifle and 1120 rounds of x39. Figured I could use another case....:D

If I were Canadian, then I'd just buy an SKS. They are cheaper, and since you guys can't have more than 5 rounds in the magazine anyway... The SKS is accurate enough (The 7.62x39 is an under 300yd. round [and I wouldn't use it past 150yds. myself] intended for human targets, not hunting; so it's just a plinker for our purposes.), tough, dependable, and cheaper than dirt. The only thing you will get in an 858 is beauty, and with that extra long barrel it arguable that it's not even as attractive as the original Vz because of it, so it's up to you. The point being, the SKS is the practical choice for a Canadian who want's to shoot 7.62x39, which is in-and-of-itself not a very accurate or long ranging round. The platform that you choose to shoot it out of becomes arbitrary because of the round itself, and the fact that you can not take advantage of hi-cap mags. I say save the money and just get an SKS. In the States it would be a different story of course. My 2cents.

Love mine... light, accurate, non-restricted, easy to pack, easy to clean, lots of accessories, and 7.62 X39 is a nice cartridge, affordable, and something your nephew or niece aren't intimidated by, offerring close to 30/30performance.
The Scout rail is a really solid choice for mounting optics, and the Fabarms furniture and accessories are great.
At close to or over a buck a bang for my other rifles, (like my .3006) the 858 gets lots of range time. The corrosive ammo/non chrome barrell isn't a big deal, just clean you rifle everytime you get back, and there is a ton of info on that in this forum.
Also, I like the looks, it's the meanest looking non-restricted rifle out there!

.. The SKS is accurate enough (The 7.62x35 is an under 300yd. round ..... The point being, the SKS is the practical choice for a Canadian who want's to shoot 7.62x59, . My 2cents.

just a minor correction the ammo is 7.62x39 .

a canadian nutter should be able to start with a SKS first and later buy a cz858 , the total cost would be less then what the american pays for one vz58 .
