Should I care if my m14 is missing the stripper clip guide?

I noticed you mentioned that you have a scope on it (in anothere thread) so my answer would be no. No big deal seeing as you will not be able to load it using the clips with a scope installed.

It would have to be removed to install a scope mount anyway.

Sounds like you were spared having to get the roll pin out to install your scope mount, be happy about that.

secondly

I had to pound mine off to install the scope mount...I don't regret it...

did you knock it out from the underside?or the top? i recently did mine from the inside of the receiver and it came out easily. just wondering.

duh, ah used a finishing nail and a weissgrippe- from the top- came out easy- but it was a springfield

From the top...but there was a small bit of rust between the guide and the reciever keeping a good hold on it. No damage done though...
