Should I ditch my extra .223 rifle?

I went to the range recently with my Savage .223 build. Pretty simple setup, hog hunter in an MDT lss chassis. I also brought my Remington 700 .308.

Ive always been a remington 700 guy and this was my first time shooting a Savage. It was a pleasure, and shot excellent with cheap ammo, but...

I discovered that day that I dont care to shoot .308 much these days. I'm happy with .223. However I also prefer a remington 700 to a savage as my main range rifle.

This past weekend I went crazy wheeling and dealing. Sold my 5r .308 and picked up another 700 in .223 with some nice bells and whistles. I've posted the savage on the EE, but not much interest yet.

I cant really see a reason to keep both .223 rifles but it wouldn't be the end of the world if it didn't sell. I could use the cash, but not a big deal.

I was also thinking about trying for a trade. I posted a couple options but there isnt much I need at the moment. even thought about swapping someone for a .308 savage barrelled action,

Then I was thinking about maybe setting up the savage with a lower powered optic or red dot and using it for steel and using the new one more for paper. It still just seems like wasted space in the safe.

Any other excuse for having 2x .223s bolt guns?

Got my new 700 today. I love it but it has a very different feel. The XRS stock is wonderful but its much bigger and heavier than expected. The LSS is feels lighter and handier yet obviously much more solid.

I'm going to keep my ad up for the savage to see what might be out there for trade but at this point I don't feel its redundant now that I have both. I may slap my holosun on it or just use irons for shooting my 8" plate at 100m. Both are sweet rifles.

Keep it. 223 and 308 are both must haves in a collection. Now find yourself a third in the 6 or 6.5 calibers. Then your 4th needs to be a big boy 300wm, 338 LM etc.
