Should I Even Buy Ammo?

First off; a big thank you to those who responded to my question around the best Glock 44 ammunition.

I have another question, and as always, I value the opinions of the members here with much more experience than I have.

Since late June, I have "purchased" 3 pistols; so far; so good.

However, I live in Ontario, and from the posts that I have seen in this Forum, there are close to 80,000 transfers that need to be cleared.

So, my $64,000 question; is there actually a real danger that when Parliament gets back from recess that I may NOT get any of the 3 pistols?

Several of our Sponsors are offering great deals on ammo, and I would like to get a bunch, hwever, it doesn't make much sense to have 2,000 to 3,000 cartridges and no guns to shoot them.

Thanking you in advance.

I'd assume that as long as the transfer has been initialized by the seller, that no matter how long it takes to complete and whatever the clowns do when Parliament comes back, you will get your pistol

Buy the ammo you need and stack it deep

Ammo is the same as currency these days, even more valuable with this government "trying" to run the show

Even if you end up with ammo you can't shoot, you probably won't lose money on ammo. It's one of the things that probably makes sense as a hedge against inflation, and is more useful to the average person than a stack of gold. Maybe 15 years ago, my brother and I jokingly talked about buying a couple crates of SKS rifles and a pallet of ammo as an investment. I would have been money ahead if I'd done that vs. RRSPs.

Always buy ammo. If that scenario comes to pass and you can’t use it someone on here will be glad to take it off your hands.

Yup, buying ammo is NEVER a wrong thing to do.......I still have horded bricks of .22 from the great ammo panic in the States a decade ago......until buying three rimfire handguns recently, the only rimfire gun I had was an old single shot Mossberg lol

Yes, buy ammo OP, and as the member above said, though doubtful, if things went pear shaped with your transfers, you could always find a buyer.

Good point.
There are going to be some brand new pistol shooters out there and a lot of others feeding the new guns they've always wanted to own.

Ammo will always be money in the bank. Worst case you will sell it for a profit. Best case it will save your life. The people who complain about horders will be the first ones dead when the STTF. Make friends with a reloader too.

...Imagine buying guns, and then being unable to shoot them because you didn't bother buying ammo, because you figured you'd never get the guns you bought. Lol

I'm convinced; I will be proceeding with a good-sized ammo order and cross my fingers that I will actually get to use it.

I'm sold; thanks for your advice. Much appreciated.

Once I hit the "check-out" button, I will post that I have completed my order.
