should I get a .22?

not being a norc. guy (personal reasons) I say what the others do...spend a few more bucks and get a proper .22 rifle. It will serve you for ever. I have many very nice guns and EVERYONE's fave it the ruger 10/22 carbine! A .22 Pistol is the best thing going! I shoot 50 .45 to 200 .22lr or more! I have a highstandard pistol and love it...I belive there are a few for sale in the EE forum.

.22lr rules IMHO

I have a conversion kit for my 1911 Remington Rand and for my Beretta 96 Vertec. I love them both. Heck I even have a Colt AR-15 22 conv kit for my Colt Sportster II ;)

The only ##### I have about my M93 is the rear sight. It's on the slide and after a few years and a BUNCH of ammo, it's getting pretty loose.
It's still quite accurate, if you ignore the rear sight, so I'm thinking of putting some kind of optic on it.
The one thing about the M93 is that it's very small in the grip-trigger area. I think it's be an ideal kid's pistol.

thanks for replies

btw Splatter do you have a picture of the M93 next to any other gun, I really have no idea how small/big the gun is

.22 Conversion Units for 1911's...

I agree with NAA. I sold my Ruger Mk II last month and purchased a .22LR Kimber conversion kit for my Gov't Model. Its fantastic.

I kinda went the other way. While I've had a .22lr Conversion Unit for my 1911's for years... I picked up a nice Ruger MkII off the site here only a couple months back. Had I know "way back when" just how well these babies shoot I wouldn't have waited so long to get one...;) :D

Choice of ammo?

I've been shooting CCI Std Velocity rounds in my Norc M93.

I read in the manual to use standard velocity .22LR, but i read in posts here that people are using Rem Thunderbolts and Win Dynapoints, which are high velocity, aren't they?

I'd rather use the cheapest ammo that works well, which probably isn't CCI Std Vel.

Don't you guys that use the HV have any concerns about the gun wearing out faster or not being safe?

I wonder why the manual says to only use std.vel?

Any thoughts?

I have fired a few hundred standard vel rounds through my M93, and thousands of the cheap high vel. The only noticable wear on the gun is the finish and the rear sight. Maybe the high vel ammo contributed to the sight getting loose, who knows? But with the money I saved shooting cheap ammo, I could probably buy another, or I'll just scope this one and see how good it really shoots.

I don't have a .22 (yet!) but never heard of a KB with a .22 either...I wouldn't wory about using hi-vel .22 ammo (and by thta I mean CCI stuff)
