With everything I've been reading about Jewell triggers triggers having creep I am starting to wonder if there is a better trigger out there? My first custom build is a 7mm Dakota with rem hunter mcmillan edge stock, Rock barrel 26" No 4 contour. predator action, 3-way safety. It will be used for hunting and range work, any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks

The only downside to buying a jewel trigger will be when you go to shoot your other guns and have to pull and pull and pull for the gun to go off. I'm totally spoiled by my jewel trigger now.
Do they make a jewel for a glock??? Just Kidding.

likewise

I have a jewel on my 10-22 - set so light a pull guage cant measure it, LOVE my jewel - expensive tho --

I have a Jewell trigger set at a crisp 1lbs on my M700P, and it's flipping amazing. There is no resistance whats so ever...I can break the trigger with a piece of dental floss. I have never heard of them haveing creep, I had some creep on the factory trigger; 9 lbs reduced to 2.5 lbs(pre-ProX), that's why I switched it out for the Jewell.

The Jewell is such a flawless mechanism

I have 2 Jewell triggers and love them both. I got the model that comes with the 3 springs so I can have any trigger pull from 1.5oz to 3.5lbs.

I have mine set at about 3oz for F-Class shooting.

If your Predator action has a Rem 700 hanger or is set up to take Rem triggers then you are in business.

The only trigger I have tried that I liked better was one that comes on the Barnard actions but I don't know what they are.

I have only used SHILEN and RIFLE BASIX. Both are good for break and creep but I really didn't like how thin the SHILEN trigger is - it works but doesn't feel the greatest. I like the wider pad of the RIFLE BASIX (LV-1). I have never tried a Jewel but have heard nothing but good stuff regarding them. I would say get a trigger based on what you are doing with the rifle. (i.e. If you are BR shooter with tons of trigger time then a Jewel is a worthwhile investment but I would say if you are a field hunter with the occasional trip to the range I wouldn't put so much money into it - Other aftermarket brands are really good if you don't want creep/heavy triggers)

Purchase a Jewel trigger?

Absolutely not!

They are very expensive!

I started with only one Jewel, and now I have 3 and am looking to order #4.

Steer clear, otherwise you will need to up the limit on your credit card!

You guys have NO idea how much money this guy has. Telling him it's way tooo much money is pointless.
The trigger group is $325 plus GST. If you think that's costly, then it's up to you. Let us know.

CyaN1de, thats a good price for a jewel in canada, they are about $230 state side, so import, shipping, ATRS overhead, etc 325 isnt out of the question for one of the best triggers money can buy

Elmerdeer, Not sure where you heard that but if there is some it may just need a bit of adjusting.

2 of my friends just got them, and at 1.5 lbs-2 lbs there is noticeable creep 1/16ths worth approx, now they have not been played with by the gunsmith, but if that can't be adjusted out I would not like it. I like to have my triggers at 1-1.5 pounds of pull, so maybe its not an issue at those weights. I will find out soon if the smith adjusted it out and let everyone know.
