Hello,
Just wondering what you fine folks think....

I have a minty T-series Browning HP that my Father purchased new in the early '70s. It has probably seen 100rnds since. It looks like it just came off the assembly line with very nice blueing.
I was planning on picking up a G17 or Norc1911A1(.45) and a 1000+rounds but have have been thinking about putting the rounds through the HP.

So should I, or shouldn't shoot the HP?

A few boxes of ammo here and their won' hurt it. If you shoot it lightly and look after it, it will still be in great shape to hand down to your kids. The Canadian Forces High Powers are all made during the second world war and are still going fairly strong.

Shoot it! That is a beautiful looking pistol, the only reason not to shoot it is to preserve its resale value as a collectors piece years down the road. In the mean time you will be missing out on the opportunity to shoot such a beautiful pistol. If you look after it it will treat you right for decades.

The best mags you can get for a HP now a days are the new browning factory mags. You will be able to recognize them as they have a small spring right near the base plate that tensions as the mag is inserted, this allows them to drop free unlike most browning mags and they are very reliable. Brownells sells them and I think as long as you keep the order under 100 bucks they will ship them to Canada (I think they go for about $30US a pop), they also have factory 10rnder's so you don't need to worry about pinning them.

Enjoy the pistol...
