Should I shoot my SP1??

Shoot it..better yet use some nice Chinacom surplus then put it away after uncleaned to preserve historic value!! Honestly I dont see the point in not shooting it..theres probably a limit to how much youll ever get for it and whether its unverified no rounds or 10 rounds through it I dont see there being a huge price disparity.

not unless it's about vintage 65 or 67- the very first ones to come out- i go like this - smooth side, treat it like a baby- forward assist, later sights, or whatever- issue 69 or later, treat it just like any ar15- it's just one of thousands

Don't shoot it but test fire it if it makes you feel better.

SP1 may look kind of retro & plain Jane but it is 100% Colt unlike today's many AR look alike. There is always a place for it in history.

I would shoot it lot's and enjoy. While there still are some guys that will buy for 'collector' interest, I think the days of big gun collections in Canada are over. You look at all the #### we have seen thrown at us in recent years, guys that have been collecting every type of gun under the sun, seemingly are fed up and selling out. Shoot that Colt and enjoy every minute of it! I fondly remember shooting an old SP1 with full capacity magazines off on old logging roads.....those were the days!

shoot it and enjoy it

no real point in 'collectiong firearms for $$ value in this country as the gov in a stroke of a pen can reduce your thousand(S) $$ GUN TO WORTHLESS SCARP

im STILL bitter about my hk 94 i lost

SP1's are not that valuable as a collector from the prices seen here on CGN, shoot it while you can before it ends up like an FN FAL or worse. If you don't want to shoot it sell it to somebody that will.
