Should you bed your mosin?

not everyone needs it, but my stock had plenty of slop.

Loosen the action screws a little, push the action hard back against the recoil bolt, re-tighten screws properly. Problem solved. Or you could add a piece of popsicle stick shaved to the right thickness ahead of the action's recoil lug (where the front action screw goes) to ensure the action stays hard against the recoil bolt.
 
Crowning helps alot for most mosins i see. Bedded a few as well when they need it. Popcicle sticks and shims made from beer cans and cork or rubber from physio and lobster claw bands work good enough. Used bedding compound on a few too, a little TLC goes along way !!!!
