Shoulda bought a charge master.....

Wtf with the chargemaster obsession, like no one can drop and trickle anymore?

I'll be honest, I bought mine about 4 years or so ago and have only used it for 25 shells. I am just in the process of joining my first gun club, so it will get lots of use. I still have a redding scale and just got an old ohaus 10-10 scale, will be checking accuracy on the ohaus frequently. Haven't done the mods on mine yet either, will get to it someday.

The mods are easy, and worth it. Takes about 4min. Just have your computer or iPad in front of you with the YouTube video up....

I do drop and trickle, with my Chargemaster.
I have things to do other than spend hours upon hours in my reloading room.

Thats why I sold mine, because I can drop and trickle to +- .1 2x faster than the chargemaster can do it.(even with the mod)
I didn't have time to stare at the chargemaster.
And it wasnt efficient to seat a bullet while the next load dispenses.

Oh well, the guy who bought my chargemaster is probably enjoying it and paid a lower price. Everyone is happy.

Sorry MT....I should've posted that.

A macdonalds straw is just the right caliber... For a more eloquent solution there's a dude on eBay that will fab you a metal equivalent for 15$

The programming shortens the time needed to throw each charge.

Bought a ChargeMaster combo from Cabelas here in Edm. I regret not having bought one years ago. Overthrows the trickle the odd time by .1 of a grain but so what? I just use a dental pick to pull out a few kernals and its a bang on charge. I had a Lyman digital that eventually wouldn't hold zero for more than one charge. would be out as much as .6 of a grain. Dumped it in the garbage and bought the RCBS. No regrets.

I should do that. When mine overthrows I dump it back in the hopper and start again.....

For .1 grain I too use fine twizzer (really cheap on ebay). For more just dump (about 3-4 kernel per .1 for varget) back in the tube, tray back, gentle tap to drop just enough.

Did notice removing about 3-4 grains of Varget drops by .1

I use my thumb and finger. Calibrated to pick and trickle to a kernel. Usually pick up more than required then trickle back up.

I use a Dandy power trickler ($60) Pacific measure and a beam scale
Loaded 50 rounds of 350 Rem mag in 30 mins. weighed, seated and crimped with a lee factory crimp die the whole operation took about as long as it takes one of those to warm up.
All loads weighed out exactly with no variance
I put the $400 I saved into a new rifle
