Shoulder Bump-Single or Whole Lot

Well, I have successfully bumped some 22-250 loads back .0015" and they chamber (and shoot) like never before. Question is I have some 3x fired .243 and the bolt closes smooth on some and stiff on others. Would one "bump" the whole lot, or mark the casings that require it and just resize those...I use Redding Body Dies.

You want uniform headspace, I would check the HS on the ones that chamber smooth and bring all your rounds to this dimension, however I would also avoid changing HS more than 2-3 thou, if the ones that chamber smooth are more than 2-3 thou I would toss them

A 15 thou bump is way too much. You should be moving the shoulder no more than enough to chamber the case easily. Usually, all it takes is 2-3 thousandths.

.0015" is 1 and a half thou, not .015"

This is wise advice. Period.

The more I think about it, it would be a disaster attempting to track which cases need a bump over others that chamber well (for another firing maybe).
