Shoulder dents

I'm quite confused. When de caping and fl sizing a few of the cases have been getting dents on the shoulder. Has this happened to any of you. If so what am i doing wrong. Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you using too much case lube?

X2 on case lube (got the shirt) Also make sure your dies are setup correctly.

Ya the dies are set up properly they have been working great, But I did put a wack of case lube on this last bunch of brass. I guess way to much.

lube about 1/16 in. of neck and case body none on shoulder also brush some not much inside case neck good luck

Are you using too much case lube?

I think that is the trouble, just a little to heavy on the case lube.

What make of die? Some have a vent hole adjacent to the shoulder to vent extra lube. Might want to see if your die has one and clean it out.

X2 on check the lube vent hole on the die. I didn't clean a brand new die good enough once and dented half a dozen cases, all while removing lube on each case.

Probably too much lube. When you shoot them, they will iron out nicely.

We have all done it, several times.

Isn't a big deal. They'll come out when you shoot and won't bother the brass.

A little dab will do 'ya as far as case lubrication. A quick swirl with a #2 pencil lead (actually graphite) will lubricate the inside of the case neck nicely.
