shoulder holsters - P226?

I have to ask. Why? Are you an ATC holder working the back country? If not, most ranges do not permit shoulder holsters. They're difficult to draw from without sweeping yourself or others. They're a lot slower to work from and many shoulder holsters are of the horizontal type, which is definitely not permitted at the range.

As far as manufacturers. Galco makes the Miami Classic, High Speed Gear offers a modular shoulder holster as well. Check with One Shot Tactical for the HSG rig. I'm not sure who offers Galco in Canada.

You might try LaRoche Leather in Quebec. His work is very good and costs a fair amount, but he's the only Canadian holster maker I know of.

What he said. They have very few practical applications, and range use really isn't one of them.

Bianchi X15, Medium. It holds a wide variaty of guns and can be used @ most ranges as the muzzle points down.
And if you get Proper training you can draw and holster as safely as with any
belt holster.

Since when does something have to have practical applications in order for someone to want it?

It doesn't. He simply won't be able to use it at most ranges or any competition. So the point to owning it would be??

ETA: I'll add this. If in a real country were to carry for your personal protection, you won't be doing yourself any favors with a shoulder holster. They excel if you spend a lot of time sitting, like driving. Other than that, you probably won't beat anyone out of the holster without a mountain of practice.

Years ago I thought a shoulder holster would work while driving. WRONG! What happened to me was, while seated in the car, the handgun would move backward and out of my reach. Regards, Richard:)

Not to mention having to arc it past everone and his brother getting it out and aimed. I had a Bianchi spring steel leather job for my old Dan Wesson 8" heavy slab barrel revolver years ago. A real adventure to use and not practicle for much. Did look good tho.....

corlanes up in dawson can probably order you one in too.. I know they have a real nice one for glock 17 hanging on the wall right now.

and TDC... I would just like to ad

Holsters are for men what purses are for women, they need not be practical or pretty but we will still want to try them out and have a drawer full of them.... sure we all hve our goto stuff like bladetech or any good namebrand leather product but I think we all have a fanny pack or some other incognito carry method stuffed in there as well.

Nothing better. I went to his shop in Manchester a few years ago, the man is the real consumate gentleman and maticulous is an understatement when it come to his work. I bought a sport holster for my Glock at the time and the quality, fit, feel and function were second to none. Keep in mind you will pay good $$$$ for a holster of this quality, but like Wendell said you get what you pay for.

I always find it hard to believe when one guy tells another guyy "don't do that, it's impractical and useless."

It a friggin ACCESSORY!!!

Just like I ask my self sometimes why I have a dozen watches and 9 pairs of sunglasses.....because I can....there need not be rhyme or reason to it.

I like Galco holster setups....but admittedly I have not owned much else. P&D, right now TSE had a couple I think, generic Uncle Mikes hoslters can be had from Wholesale.

Its clear you folks failed to read my entire post. There is nothing wrong with having a dozen holsters in as many colours and styles. However, why would you own a holster you won't be able to use on the range and is impractical for concealed carry?? Logic people, there is very little when it comes to shoulder holsters. This issue is no different than those who want 37/40mm launchers. There's little ammo available, they're heavy and they're expensive. There is no logical reason for it. Oh wait, I forgot. POSING....

Why does it matter to you how someone else wants to spend their disposable income at all? Logical or not, it's his money. He can buy whatever he wants. He's just looking for supplier info, not lectures on what is logical or prtactical...

What the hell is wrong with some of you fellas? Can't you just leave a buddy alone to spend his money however he wants?! Sheesh! :p:D

I can understand why someone would "fail to read your entire post". It's really none of your business what someone wants to do with their money.

A geologist friend gave me his Bianchi X15 shoulder holster before he moved out of Canada. Seems to be a nice holster that fits a wide range of handguns. I've never used it but I've 'fitted' it to see what handguns it would hold. It's been sitting in a drawer for the past 15 years and I don't think it'll ever leave that drawer but I'll never sell it. TDC's logic is sound and reasonable but logic doesn't come into play when you're dealing with a 'Nutz (or is it nut). :D :p
