Shoulder sling rifle carry - muzzle down?

I use finger cots myself for this purpose....

I found that those ripped on branches and such very easily but maybe I had cheap ones.

I prefer not to carry muzzle down.
I've been in the bush pushing deer in swamp and thick brush and have slipped or fallen and would have rammed my muzzle into the ground if I had been carrying "African carry".
I almost always carry cradle style when walking in the bush but use my sling when I'm in the thick or covering some area that I'm not likely to see any deer.

I like muzzle down on my weak side, but I usually have the muzzle angled more forward than down. It's more comfortable for my hand to rest on the forend, and if you fall your muzzle won't poke a hole in the dirt.
